We would recommend 8.  We have seen people not use 8.  But we would use 8. Call us over achievers I guess.

A 2.75" Panhead bolt like this is needed when you have a pretty huge riser or for big wedge/angled riser, or at this size both.

We like to use Panhead hardware when setting up a dropped through board, or at times when you won't be  standing on top of the hardware and you are wanting to spread the force of the bolt out wider across the top not sink it into the board.
