The Art:

Illustrated by V.C Johnson, the Per Welinder Viking Skull was pulled from Per's Swedish origins.  The rock texture was added to the 1986 version, and in 1987 a new full-length graphic was modified to fit a street model skateboard because Per was performing in freestyle and street demos.

The Runic lettering, hailing from the 8th Century spell out Per's name along with a quote in the background, "Search and strive, push beyond with strength, yours not theirs, that is the key." Per Welinder.

The Construction:

Powell-Peralta re-issue decks are close reproductions of their 1980’s counterparts, featuring the original top and bottom graphics, shape and concave. Made with Powell-Peraltas' partner in Mexico, the materials include U.S. hard rock maple and glue that meets Powells specifications, warranted against delamination for their useful life. Shape and graphics created in Santa Barbara, CA.
